The trees are bare. Panel 4: The bear and the wolf press their foreheads together in a moment of friendship. Panel 5: The bear and the wolf part ways for the winter, the bear heading to hibernate and the wolf heading back to his pack.

Panel 1: An adult wolf with a scar over one eye recieves a message from a bird while watching over her pup. Panel 2: The wolf runs into the forest, following the bird. Panel 3: The wolf sees a bear cub crying over the prone body of his mother in their cave. Panel 4: The wolf walks away from the cave with the bear cub in her mouth. Panel 5: The bear cub and the wolf pup both suckle at the teats of the mother wolf.
